さて今作は、２０１４年２月に作ったショートバージョンを、進撃２期発表に際してロング化したものです。
そもそも当時ショートバージョンを作ったキッカケとしては、（上記リンク先に詳細がありますが）
Wakanimというフランス向けのアニメ配信サイトが、SHINDEHAIに
Tai Reflections on Wakanim
という動画連載企画の仕事を持ちかけてきたことでした。
そしてこれは、その第一弾として作られた曲でした。
今はその企画はすでに終了していますが、Wakanimはアニメ映像を配信する許諾を得た上で運営されているため、
その前の段階でワンパンマンとか暗殺教室のテーマ曲を勝手に作ってYoutubeで公開していたSHINDEHAIに、
Wakanimが、「アニメ映像を”許諾つきで”使って、勝手にOP作る連載企画をやりませんか」と持ちかけてきたのでした。
それは結構面白い話だったので、SHINDEHAIは引き受けました。
その結果、Tai Reflections on Wakanimでは、進撃のOP・EDを勝手に作るところから始まって、
他にもひぐらしとか空の境界とかのOPを勝手に作って、私は作品選びや作詞や歌唱の面で手伝っていました。
「Tai Reflections」はon Wakanim版だけでなく、Youtube版も２月に復活するまでしばらくおやすみしていました。
ですが、２月に「Journal」で復活！
そして、進撃２期の発表を受け、３月は「あれをフルバージョンにしよう！」という話になったのです。
３月１１日に駅で作曲してたのが、これの２番以降でした。
そのため、その日も、つい先日も、サンホラやらリンホラの話ばかりしていたわけなんですよｗ
ショートのときも、
「彼の進撃楽曲を完全にリスペクトした構成で新曲を作る！！！！！」
という目標の元に作り始めたものなので、フルバージョンを作るにあたっては、
「楽曲の構成自体がよりサンホラ・リンホラ的であるべき」
と考え、ナレーションや大量のSEを追加し、
オルガンやベースのソロパートと、１番にないメロディで作られた「ブリッジパート」を作っていきました。
使われる楽器についても、
「Revoはフルオーケストラをバックに使うから、持ちうる限りのオーケストラ音源でその音色を再現！」
と熱弁奮ったりしつつ、
「Revoは、（リンホラで）バックコーラスを厚くするけど、主旋律に対してのコーラスを担当する自分の声を重ねないから
ぼくも主旋律だけを歌う！ハモりはなし！」
「Revoはベースソロにスラップを多用するからスラップが得意なNekuにソロを頼もう！」
「Revoの作るギターソロはすごくテクニカルなパワーメタルで、ぼくには弾ききれないからLoganに頼もう！」
「ここでバラードのブリッジが入るところが実にサンホラ的！！」
「アウトロは３度ずつ転調すべき！！」
って感じで、サンホラで言えばMoiraくらい、あとはやはり「紅蓮の弓矢」のアレンジ方式を
可能な限り踏襲しながら作っていきました。
私は「進撃の巨人」に関しては単行本勢なんですが、最新刊まで追いついてはいるので、
「ネタバレはしないけど、それっぽい言葉を選ぶ」ように気をつけながら作詞しました。
あと、１番のバックコーラスを２番以降にコピペ出来るように、Bメロとサビの押韻を徹底しましたｗ
ナレーション部分は日本語で書いて英語に訳した後、SHINDEHAIがドイツ語の出来る友人に翻訳を頼みました。
ドイツ語コーラスなどの部分は、私がドイツ語の出来る友人に監修を頼みました。
割と面白い曲に仕上がったと思います！
今後も「Tai Reflections」ではアニメOPを勝手に作ったり、アニメOPっぽい時事ネタソングを作ったりしていきます。
